House:
Tuck-It-Inn is a charming historic cabin complete with wood-paneled walls, huge stone fireplace, open beam ceilings, and large country kitchen. At ground level, the comfortable living room centers on the fireplace and offers a spinet piano and lots of games, along with an antler candelabra, which can be lowered and raised to light votive candles. The kitchen, with updated appliances, invites more than one cook and opens to a covered deck with a fabulous forest view, outdoor dining for four and Weber Genesis gas grill. There's a bathroom with shower off the kitchen. The dining room opens from the living room and seats eight in rustic, antique splendor with windows and forest views on all sides. There is a day bed at each end of the dining room. These two daybeds, along with the two bedrooms, provide four separate sleeping spaces. Up to two additional small children are permitted for a fee.
A staircase leads from the living room to a balcony that opens to the warm and inviting upstairs bedroom with queen bed. This bedroom has its own small, private deck. Through the dining room there's a narrow staircase down to the spacious master bedroom suite which has a queen bed, TV with premium cable, HBO, DVD & VCR, and comfy chair with ottoman in front of a wood burning stove. French doors open to a deck with loungers and stairs leading to the hot tub. The master bath, a true jewel of a room with an entire wall of windows lighting up the clawfoot tub (with shower), opens to a small balcony, standing room only. This home is so full of charming detail that you could spend a week here and still keep discovering its treasures.
Grounds:
Tuck-It-Inn is very private, with no nearby homes. Although surrounded by forest, it has a good deal of sun and some beautiful landscaping. There are steps from the parking space to the front door, and two sets of steps, one wood and one stone, down to the hot tub. The hot tub has its own terrace amongst the trees and the stars and is just the perfect place to relax. The surrounding garden is filled with wonderful succulents and sculpture.
